Iceland is a Nordic country in the North Atlantic. The capital, also the largest city is Reykjavik. Iceland is geologically active with numerous volcanic activities. The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Icelandic culture is founded upon the nation's Scandinavian heritage. The country's cultural heritage includes traditional Icelandic cuisine and medieval sagas.

Tourism in Iceland has grown considerably in economic significance in the past 15 years. Iceland is well known for its untouched nature. Icecaps and glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes, raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a bevy of birds, cavorting whales offshore and much more are on your Iceland itinerary.
