Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, now the Leh District in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh is a region of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir that lies between the Kunlun mountain range in the north and the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. Ladakh with the area of 95,000 square kilometers has one of the lowest population densities in the world, with 2 inhabitants per square kilometer. An old Ladakhi saying: The passes are so high and land so barren; only a dear friend or a serious enemy will reach here.

This land has for the longest time, has been known for its beauty. One can opt for various routes and means to explore Leh- ladakh. The best way to explore this terrain is by driving through Manali to Leh. Manali to Leh - Once restricted route, is now one of the most exciting drive which takes you across high Himalayan passes. This gives one the perfect chance to witness the mountains, culture, forests and adventure of the region. Those who want to reach leh directly can fly from Delhi, only to land in Leh and start exploring. Once at Leh,
one can understand the culture by visiting monasteries and monks. For photographers, the brilliant landscapes give the perfect photographic opportunities.

Day 1: 6/7/17:
Delhi

Report at HPTDC (Himachal Tourism) office, Chanderlok, opposite Hotel Imperial, Janpath Lane at 18:00hrs. Proceed to Manali at 18:30hrs by Ac Volvo bus (600 kms).

 

Day 2: 7/7/17:
Manali

Arrive Manali at 09:00am & pickup with transfer to (Pause Cottage). Acclimatization and evening visit Manali market or visit Hidimba (Transfers for Manali market to & fro to be paid @ actuals by the client).

 

Day 3: 8/7/17:
Manali - Jispa (3142 m) 7 hrs.

Drive over Rohtang Pass (3970m.) to Lahaul valley, along the Chandra River to Keylong. Overnight in Jispa which boasts of a new Monastery built to commemorate the auspicious 18th Kalchakra initiation by the Dalai Lama in July 1994.

 

Day 4: 9/7/17:
Jispa- Sarchu - Leh (3506 m.) 10 hrs.

Exciting drive through lofty mountain passes - Barlacha-La (4892m.), Lachalang –La (5065m.), Tanglang-La (5360m).
Magnificent views from rugged mountain tops.

 

Day: 5: 10/7/17:
Leh Nimu Sangam Leh

Breakfast experience the ultimate adrenaline rush with White water rafting from Scorpoche Nimu Sangam (18kms). Visit Hall of Fame & Pathar Sahib Gurudwara.

 

Day 6: 11/7/17:
Pangong Lake (4268 m) 10 hrs.

Today drive over the Chang La Pass (5183m.) to the Pangong Lake and stay overnight at Pangong Lake.

 

Day 7: 12/7/17:
Pangong- Leh. 6 Hrs.


After breakfastdrive back to Leh. Enrooted visit Hemis Monastery that is one of the richest Gompa in this region. Afternoon roam around the market/ relax.

 

Day 8: 13/7/17:
Leh – Diskit/Hunder (3048 m) 6 Hrs.

Drive from Leh to the Nubra Valley (Ldomra or the Valley of Flowers) over the Khardung La pass (5606 Mts.), the highest motorable road in the world. Enjoy a double hump camel ride on the sand dunes of Hunder. The camels date back to the Silk Route days. Enjoy fascinating views of Karakoram Mountain range. Overnight at Diskit.

 

Day 9: 14/7/17:
Diskit - Leh

In the morning visit the Deskit Monastery that dates back to 14th century and then drive to Leh over Khardung La. Afternoon visit Hall of Fame.

 

Day 10: 15/7/17:
Leh- Delhi:

Fly Leh -New Delhi.
